Our Community & ESG: A Legacy of Responsible Development

At Liberty Graphite, our commitment to Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) excellence is not merely a policy; it is a profound operational legacy, deeply rooted in nearly three decades of dedicated partnership and positive impact within the Ampanihy region of Madagascar. We believe true progress comes from consistently investing in local well-being, education, and sustainable growth, as demonstrated by our verifiable track record.

We've maintained claim 1664 a Permis d'Exploitation (PE) since 1996, and our 2024 Environmental Monitoring Report directly proves our team’s active, ongoing commitment to environmental stewardship, regulatory compliance, and exceptional community relations. This isn't just a promise for the future; it's a verifiable, current legacy that dramatically de-risks our graphite project for any partner seeking ethical and secure supply.

Our 2024 Environmental Monitoring Report (RAPPORT DE SUIVI ENVIRONNEMENTAL 2024) for this claim stands as definitive proof of our continuous dedication to responsible operations over nearly three decades. This current report documents our ongoing adherence to the highest standards, including sustained reforestation efforts, chemical-free processing, meticulous water management, and a deep, continuous collaboration with local communities, setting a gold standard for our graphite development.

Social: "bonne collaboration" a currently active and sustained relationship, directly applicable to engaging communities for the graphite project.

This can be demonstrated by the 3 schools we maintain in the region.

Environmental: Re-vegetation and reforestation and chemical-free processing as current, verifiable practices.

Governance: Our 2024 Environmental Monitoring Report for a PE permit held since 1996 demonstrates exceptional long-term regulatory compliance and robust operational governance.

At Liberty Graphite, our commitment to responsible development extends far beyond resource extraction. It is deeply rooted in a proven track record of long-term partnership and positive impact within the communities where we operate in Madagascar. We believe true progress comes from investing in local well-being, education, and sustainable growth.

A Proven Legacy: 28 Years of Responsible Stewardship on Claim 1664

Our team's dedication to the Ampanihy region is not new; it's an unbroken operational history on the very ground of the Ampanihy Crown Project. Since 1996, our operations on claim 1664 (now part of our graphite project) have been consistently governed by strong environmental and social practices. This long-standing commitment is definitively documented in our "RAPPORT DE SUIVI ENVIRONNEMENTAL 2024" (2024 Environmental Monitoring Report), which validates our active, ongoing adherence to best practices. For nearly three decades, this has included:

Long-Term Community Collaboration: Fostering "bonne collaboration avec la population locale" through consistent engagement and mutual respect. This includes the successful establishment and ongoing maintenance of three schools in the region, directly impacting generations by providing vital education.
Active Environmental Management: Documenting sustained reforestation efforts, meticulous water management (protecting local rice paddies), and processing methods that have never utilized chemical products.

Our Integrated ESG Framework: Pillars of Responsibility

As we advance the Ampanihy Crown Project, our integrated ESG framework is built upon this established foundation, ensuring every stage of our development adheres to the highest standards of responsibility:

Social (S): Empowering Communities & Fostering Development

  • Long-Term Educational Investment: Our commitment includes the successful establishment and ongoing maintenance of three schools in the project region over two decades.
  • Sustainable Livelihoods: We prioritize maximizing local employment and providing skills training to foster shared prosperity.
  • Proven Community Partnership (Recent Example): Our commitment to community partnership was recently demonstrated during initial exploration activities in September 2025. Our team, led by our in-country partners, conducted extensive meetings with local authorities and the Antandroy community, successfully building a climate of trust. This proactive engagement enabled our geological work to proceed with strong local support and collaboration, underscoring that community partnership is fundamental to our social license to operate.

Environmental (E): Protecting & Restoring Our Natural Heritage

  • Active Stewardship: Implementing robust environmental management plans, including ongoing land rehabilitation, biodiversity protection, and responsible waste management.
  • Sustainable Practices: Utilizing chemical-free processing methods and carefully managing water resources to safeguard local ecosystems and agricultural land, practices documented in our 2024 Environmental Report.
  • Climate Responsibility: Exploring opportunities for renewable energy integration and minimizing our carbon footprint in future operations.

Governance (G): Operating with Integrity & Transparency

  • Permit Compliance: Strict adherence to all Malagasy mining and environmental regulations, backed by our multi-decade history of maintaining permitted operations.
  • Ethical Conduct: Upholding the highest standards of business ethics, anti-corruption, and corporate governance.
  • Stakeholder Accountability: Ensuring transparent reporting and open communication with all stakeholders, from local communities to international investors.

This integrated approach ensures that Liberty Graphite not only secures a critical mineral supply but also contributes positively and sustainably to the region's future.
